Last Saturday, was a “big orange” day in Knoxville. The University of Tennessee, my alumni, played the University of Florida. This is our biggest game of the year and it happens on the third Saturday of September. I haven’t been to a UT vs. FL game before and this is mainly because everyone wants to go, tickets are very expensive. The ticket scalpers were selling tickets for over $200/ticket, nuts. This year my father-in-law, who has season passes, was going to be out of town for business thus = free tickets for us! I was super excited because we finally had a chance pull a win. UT has been in a “building” period for some time now and haven’t won many games. Also, FL doesn’t have a very good team like they have had in the past, so we had a chance.
I’m not going to get into stats about the game just we played hard the first half. If we would have keep that up we maybe would have pulled out a win for Tennessee, but we lost 37-20. We still had a great time and the weather was perfect. It was nice just to do something together for a change.
Tip: If you’re going to the football game ride the KAT shuttle. Park in the Old City at Barley’s for free (under James White Parkway) and jump on the shuttle for $6 per person. Drops you off near the stadium then picks you up after the game all for $6. You can’t beat that price and you don’t have to deal with traffic.
